How can I get the best price for Adobe Illustrator?

The list price for Illustrator is $499! I understand that the student price is a lot less, but what kind of credentials do I need (ie kind of school) to get this? Are there other ways to get a lower price?How can I get the best price for Adobe Illustrator?

Just know that if you buy the student version you can't upgrade. You will have the buy the next version at full price again. So maybe spend the money now to save it later.

find one to look at their college bookstore for it.


my college bookstore sells the entire CS2 suite for that price!
You need a college ID and I think you can buy it at a college book store, maybe you can get it on line





But also sometimes you can buy it at a good price on Ebay
I think they are pretty strict about the credentials required for giving an educational discount. I was looking at getting a copy of Acrobat and they almost wanted me to sign away my firstborn child. Okay, maybe not that bad, but they wanted copies of a Student ID with dates or copies of paystubs if you work at a school. They have a form they want you to complete.
