I am looking for a tutorial, or at least some help with figuring dimensions on how to make a calendar with Illustrator. I want it to be very professional looking with a picture on top and the dates below. I would also like for it to have a cover and for it to be actual sized to a normal store bought calendar. I am trying to make them customized for Christmas presents, but am having a heck of a time!
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! How to make a professional calendar with Adobe Illustrator?
Illustrator is a great program. I use it for most of my designing. A calendar can be designed in illustrator and can be done very well.
You will need to create 14 documents. Start by creating a Template with the basic guides.
鈥?Start with an Art board 12'; x 24';
鈥?Create a rectangle 12.125'; x 24.125'; then hit Ctrl+5 to create a bleed guide.
鈥?Enable Smart Guides Ctrl+U %26gt; Enable Rulers Ctrl+R %26gt; Drag guide to fold mark of rectangle guide.
鈥?Create a rectangle 11.875'; x 23.875'; then hit Ctrl+5 to create a safe zone guide.
Pagination is as follows:
Pg 1 %26amp; 28 (Cover - Back)
PG 2 %26amp; 27 (Jan09P - Jan10D)
PG 3 %26amp; 26 (Jan09D - Jan10P)
PG 4 %26amp; 25 (Feb P - Dec D)
PG 5 %26amp; 24 (Feb D - Dec P)
PG 6 %26amp; 23 (Mar P - Nov D)
PG 7 %26amp; 22 (Mar D - Nov P)
PG 8 %26amp; 21 (Apr P - Oct D)
PG 9 %26amp; 20 (Apr D - Oct P)
PG 10%26amp;19 (May P - Sep D)
PG 11%26amp;18 (May D - Sep P)

I wouldn't use Illustrator to make a calendar. It's just gonna take forever. Try Quark Xpress or other publishing programs. Illustrator is for drawing. No wonder you are having such a hard time.
