In Adobe Illustrator how do you make lines around a picture that look like cut out lines to clip a coupon?

I want to add a ';coupon'; on a Adobe Illustrator flyer. I want to make the little broken lines around it like a place where you can cut around a coupon. In Adobe Illustrator how do you make lines around a picture that look like cut out lines to clip a coupon?
Create a rectangle around the coupon text. At the bottom of the tools palette, select the little square that indicates Stroke (so you get an outline of the rectangle), deselect the fill icon (there's a little box below that with a red line through it, indicating it will disable the fill). Now open your Stroke palette. Make sure all the options are showing. At the bottom part is a section for creating a dashed stroke, you can set the length of the dash and the amount of space between each dash (it's done in pixels). You can also select how thick that dashed line will be by changing the stroke thickness in that same palette. Play around with it until you get something you like. If you're having trouble, make sure that rectangle is selected before you start created your dashed stroke.
